11/23 AM Shift Notes

 Very busy for European Breakfast with so many guests checking out, we had 51 join us. It was a good steady pace, but really picked up by 9:15 or so, and it was a bit difficult to keep up with replenishing food, and at one point coffee. A few guests were waiting on coffee, and they were nice and patient. The bakery helped us replenish as well, which is always appreciated. 

We had a little pop also at 11 am, which was nice as well, everyone sat outside since it was a nice day. 

Paco was helping at the pool, and a few guests already by 10:30, and since we were busy most of the day so far, I asked if he could break and stay a little longer for the day, he agreed, but then by 2 not much more happened out in the pool, so we let him and Zammy go home as well. 

It was a bit quiet later in the day, so we went down to Sydney, and Rueben. 

Feedback from food was great. 

There was a bee nest under one of the pool lounges, and a beekeeper was called in to remove them, so a few guests decided not to stay in the pool area. 

Peter Kelley was ill again today and let me know he was in the emergency room most of the day yesterday. I have an extensive record of his call outs, and emergency room visits over the last few weeks, I'm going to send over to HR tomorrow. I just want to navigate how to handle this with them, and when we can get doctor's notes etc. For the time being I think we should not be scheduling him on the weekends, because he's put us in a big bind for the last three weeks. I will talk to Riley about just scheduling him on slower days, so that if he does call out, we can handle it a little better.  

I want to talk to Warner and Jess how to best ring in the European Breakfast ticket at the end of the day, just so that we are keeping an accurate account of them, right now we changed to the staff dropping the check, with hope they'll get a better tip, which they often do, and then I input them again to add the gratuity from the house account. I have decided to have the first person cut put the European Breakfast ticket, and add the gratuity, so that it's no longer under a managers name, and not necessary to put the manager on the tip out sheet.
