1/12/26 snug and condor
Quiet night again in both outlets.
Grayson expressed interest in being involved in the bar training program set up. I told him to talk with Luc, as I love his enthusiasm in wanting to help the team strengthen and grow. He expressed concern around consistency.
I cut Grayson and Killian (killian wanted to go home first) at 7pm.
Corinn wasn't feeling well, so she left at 6ish. Collin continues to be a problem, talking with front desk, hanging in IRD and standing talking with Marc in the lobby. I asked him these three different times what he was doing, he always has an answer- and quite frankly its disrespectful. Especially when I saw him in IRD eating staff meal at 6:30. I asked him if he was on break, and he said no, I came back for wine glasses, and I saw the tots, so now I'm eating them. He said this to me in front of many employees. I told him no, you need to grab what you came for and return to snug. I cut him at 7:30 after I found him leaning on front desk talking to Marc and Caleb.
Lots of standing around and talking, clustering from all staff. We all need to begin cracking down on this. I lead with asking what tasks they are doing, and if they say nothing, give them a task. We will soon form a list of repeat offenders. It is not fair for the workers who stay on the floor, finding things to do.
The gathering at the drink pick up area, host stand, IRD is unacceptable. During pre shift please drill in to all employees that if you are on the floor, you are visible and you are listened to by guests. There is to be no talking about outside life or guests. Even if there is only one table.
Ally did great on her last training shift. She is really awesome. One hiccup was a larger group of 6, one guest ordered for the whole table, and they had some kiddos in their group. He ordered fish tacos, and he wanted them as an appetizer. I told ally that it's best practice for any order, whether big or small, to repeat back and to get clarity on coursing. We can suggest coursing, but there are times, like tonight, that they will want certain items as apps.
Soft serve machine broke tonight, so we had to 86 soft serve.
Slight menu fiasco, there were three different versions on the floor. Old menus, new menus without correct descriptions (two tacos, three tostadas) and the correct menus. Amanda and I went through all the menus, and then as service started, more old versions appeared. We found they came from the bar. So just a reminder when we change menus to make sure all come off the floor
PM host will now be getting a current hotel guest list with room numbers. Before shift they should go through reservations and make sure hotel guests that have a reservation are appropriately marked so we are aware. This will help with any check discrepancies if they charge to their room & for us to be able to report during morning meeting, or share with the front desk if they had a nice dinner, or any issues.
I have a meeting with micros man on Wednesday where we will correct any issues pertaining to new menu items and mods. Also hoping to change "Holiday" menu tab to "Specials" so that we can utilize that tab more and not just on holidays.
