3/8/26 COCINA NOTES
Euro breakfast got a bit of a hit towards the end of breakfast at 9, I do believe it's because of the time change, everyone was about an hour behind. So, we filled up all at once, we were pretty sure that was going to happen so the buffet was replenished, and the staff did a good job keeping up with their tables even though they got sat at once.
We did have a lady come up to me to say that their food was taking a half hour, and they had somewhere to be, she said if it wasn't coming soon that they would just eat items off the buffet. When I went to the kitchen the food was ready so I ran it right away, they seemed better once it was dropped, although I needed to get the salt and pepper and it took a moment as all of the ones we usually use were out. Eve said the lady came to her as well, and said they were waiting for their food now 45 minutes, I let Eve know that they had their food now, and I had already spoken to the woman. Danny let me know as he was sitting near them that they had some issues with hot water in their room as well. I know they were at the pool yesterday and waited a long time for an iced tea and chardonnay, so when I saw the gentleman this morning, I comped their two lattes for being kind and patient, he said it wasn't necessary, but I wanted to acknowledge the wait time. I do also believe the lady with the long wait time for breakfast was fine once she received her food, and I apologized and thanked her for her patience. When she was leaving she went out of her way to thank me, and said they had a great time and will be back.
We had a decent amount of covers starting at lunch at 18, we ended with 53. I kept Anna on a little later to take the inside, and Paco and Zammy took the patio. I told Paco and Zammy since they had a four table section, that when they have time to check in with Sydney at the pool, and I could see that Paco took the time out to make it happen.
Lunch was pretty busy, and although the staff had smaller sections, they were doing okay, but the bar got behind, and we had a couple of long ticket times. Some guests I could just simply apologize, and drop off their drinks, others I felt it necessary to discount their bill, it was just one table, and I offered the friends and family discount. They seemed appreciative.
Zammy had a table that was disappointed with their nicoise salad, they said that the tuna was canned, I let them know that wasn't the case, but would happily get them something else. They decided on a green salad, and then at the same table another guest said their tacos were cold. They did not want their tacos remade, so I took it off their bill. I also gave them the friends and family discount for the few issues at the table, the gentleman let me know it was more than a couple of things. I do believe they were fine when it was all said and done.
